The Problem: My iBook won't wake up!
The Solution:
Check first - Press the battery status light on the back of the ibook.
No green lights or only 1 light thbt is blinking indicate that it's
time to recharge.
If you have at least one solid green light, you'll need to restart. (Be
sure to try your track pad and mouse a bunch first, because you will
lose any work you haven't saved by doing this step.) Press these three keys at the same time: crtl+apple+power then release.
The Problem: I can't connect to the Internet!
The Solution Part 1 :
1. Click on the signal in the upper right corner near the battery. Make sure SPSD is selected.
2. Click on the blue apple in the upper left corner. Choose Location and slide over to select My School.
3. In some rooms, you may need to move to another area to get a good
signal. Click on the network signal and choose Turn Airport Off. Move
across the room and then choose Turn Airport on.
The Solution Part 2 :
1. After opening Firefox, click on the word Firefox and choose Preferences.
2. Click on the Advanced icon at the top of the new window, then the Network Tab.
3. Click on the Settings button on the right. Select Auto-detect, then
click OK and close the windows that have opened. You should be able to
get on the Internet now.
The Problem: I can't print!
The Solution:
1. First check to be sure your network signal is on. (See above.)
2. Make sure you have chosen the printer nearest you and that the
printer is turned on. Ask the teacher in the room to be sure the
printer is all set.
3. Open the Print Center and find the name of the printer you are trying to use. Double-click on it.
4. If the name of the file you are printing is there and it is not
printing, click on the file name, then click on Delete at the top of
the print window.
5. Try printing on another printer.
The Problem: My machine is hung up!
A spinning color wheel is the only thing happening. Or the MLTI Backup window keeps opening.
The Solution:
Force Quit. Press these three keys at the same time: option+apple+esc then release. When a window pops up, highlight the program you are trying to run then click on the Force Quit button. Repeat if necessary.
You can also Force
Quit by clicking on the icon in the dock of a program that is hung up.
Hold the click button down until the word Quit appears, then highlight
Quit and release.
The Problem: My World Book icon has disappeared! (or any icon from the dock is gone)
The Solution:
Add the icon back.
1. Double-click on the hard drive icon (it's silver and says Macintosh HD under it).
2. Double-click on the Applications folder.
3. Scroll to find the program you want to reset in the dock. Click and drag its icon onto the dock and let go.
The Problem: I keep getting a warning when I connect to the network.
