Sharing Your Podcast
Set up iTunes
With iTunes open, click on the word iTunes. Choose Preferences.
Click on Advanced, then click on Importing.
Find Import Using and click there to change it to read MP3 Encoder.
Get it out of Garageband
Save your finished product with a name that your teacher will recognize. Leave Garageband open.
Click on Share at the top, then choose Send Podcast to iTunes.
Convert to MP3
With iTunes open, click on your file, then choose Advanced.
Click on Convert Selection to MP3.
After it runs for a few moments, click on Library on the left of iTunes, and find your file again.
If there are 2 copies of it, click on the bottom one and drag it onto your desktop. If it says MP3 on it, you’re ready for the next step. If not, click and drag the other copy of it from iTunes to your desktop.
Drop in on your
Teacher
Hit F11, then click on your desktop. Finder should appear in the top left corner.
Click Go, then select the last choice: Connect to Server.
In the server address line, type manw01 then click Connect.
Type in your network name and network password, as though you are logging in to a computer in the lab, not your laptop.
When a new window opens, click OK if Apps is highlighted (or choose Apps if it’s not highlighted).
Next double click on Utils folder, then Curriculum folder, then either your teacher’s grade or Related Arts folder. Finally open the folder of the teacher your are handing it in to.
At last, drag the MP3 file from your desktop into the Drop Box of the teacher. Click OK when a message appears.
Go get a drink. That was a lot of work…
